"...In drawing for animation, you must add motive....there has to be a motive so you can draw what's in your character's mind. There has to be some reason for your character to be doing what he is doing, and for the way in which he does it; depending on his physical characteristics, the gesture will take on a mood of its own...Any character an artist draws should be abalyzed with deep interest and concern."
