About Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose loves stories. After a childhood spent reading everything she could get her hands on and drawing in between, she went to library school, but in her late thirties, she decided that what she actually wanted to be when she grew up was an illustrator. She loves drawing people; her passion is for traditional media, with a focus on storytelling through movement, line and organic form. She loves blending reality and fantasy, much like she does in her daily life.

Her inspiration comes from the Old Masters and the Golden Age Illustrators, particularly Norman Rockwell, Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and Averil Burleigh.

When she is not working (is there such a thing?), Mandy Rose can be found reading and listening to music, hanging out with her family, spending time at the lake watching everyone else fishing, and devouring documentaries on archaeology, history, true crime and the paranormal.

She lives in a farmhouse in rural Southern Alberta, where she is currently working on her personal project, Greenblood and Firewoman, and trying desperately not to look at her garden.
